Ad Fed Educational Foundation Started in Tucson

Inside Tucson Business - July 2, 2010

The American Advertising Federation in Tucson has developed an educational foundation to raise money for student scholarships. There are four college chapters of the advertising federation — at the University of Arizona, Pima Community College, the Art Institute of Tucson and the Art Center Design College. (That’s the most in any one city in the country; Honolulu has three.)

Michael Bolchalk, president and CEO of Bolchalk FReY Marketing, is serving a three-year term as the foundation’s inaugural preident. Other officers are first vice president Jennifer Nunn, with Journal Broadcast Group; second vice president Mary Martin, with Good News Radio Broadcasting; secretary Mary Rowley, owner of Strongpoint Public Relations; and treasurer Jim Rwowley, with Tucson Newspapers. All foundation board members are former presidents of the ad fed’s Tucson chapter.

The ad fed has already established five annual scholarships: one for each college chapter, and one for Hispanic students. “As an organization we take pride in supporting and inspiring young people entering the industry,” Bolchalk said in  announcement the creation of the foundation. “We wanted to ensure that we could continue to support these students in their endeavor by raising funds for annual scholarships.”
