The Tucson Advertising Federation launched a radio campaign last week to raise awareness of the Earned Income Tax Credit among low-income families.
The English and Spanish commericals were produced as a donation from Michael Bolchalk Marketing, Advertising & Public Relations and local radio stations are donating the airtime. In addition, the Jim Click Automotive Team and the Long Realty Cares Foundation are sponsoring ads on KGUN-TV Channel 9 about this important tax credit.
The ad campaign also publicizes free tax preparation help at several volunteer sites.
Last year, volunteers completed tax returns for 1,150 low-income workers, resulting in more than $1 million in overall federal and state tax credits. With more volunteers this year and sites open more hours, the program expects to double.
"Many families are still leaving money on the table because they've never heard of the earned income tax credit or they don't file tax returns," said Rosalva A. Bullock, chairwoman of the Strengthening Families Impact Council at United Way. Tax Assistance sites. |
