Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Advertising Federation and United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona will celebrate a million dollar milestone with a debut of the new 2003-2004 United Way Advertising Campaign and Media Partnership Appreciation Luncheon Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at the Sheraton Hotel & Suites Ballroom.

The Tucson Advertising Federation won a third place National Club Achievement Award earlier this year for its public service program with United Way.

"Thanks to the Tucson advertising community, over one million dollars in advertising and services have been donated, making this project the largest public service bilingual ad campaign ever conducted in Southern Arizona," said Tucson Advertising Federation Board President, Ray Depa of KGUN Channel 9.

"Without the personal and professional commitments of our media partners, we could not have made it happen," said Michael Bolchalk of Michael Bolchalk Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations, the firm that helped initiate the program. The Tucson advertising agency has won numerous ADDY awards for its work on behalf of the United Way.

The local public service project is the Tucson Advertising Federation's annual fund raising effort, allowing the organization to invest annually in an endowment fund for student scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to advertising/marketing students from Student Ad Clubs at University of Arizona and Art Center Design College.

The Tucson Advertising Federation is a local chapter of the American Advertising Federation, an organization with a mission to better the advertising industry, recognize the best in advertising, and inform and educate advertising professionals.
